Navigation Beacons

Zecharia Sitchin proposed that the Anunnaki established a system of navigation beacons on Earth to guide their spacecraft as they approached and landed on the planet. These beacons took the form of massive stone structures — pyramids, megalithic platforms, and aligned stone circles — that remain some of the most impressive monuments of the ancient world.

The Beacon System

The navigation beacon system served multiple functions:

  1. Identification — Identifying the landing site from orbit or high altitude
  2. Alignment — Providing precise directional references
  3. Guidance — Marking the approach path to the spaceport
  4. Communication — Possibly containing communication devices (the DUR.AN.KI)

The Beacons

The Great Pyramid (Giza)

The Great Pyramid was the primary beacon:

  • Its original polished limestone casing made it shine like a star
  • Its location at the center of Earth’s landmass
  • Its precise alignment to true north (within 0.05 degrees)
  • Its reflective surface visible from great distances
  • Its internal chambers aligned to key stars (Orion, Sirius)

The Baalbek Platform

The megalithic platform at Baalbek served as both launch pad and beacon:

  • Its massive, flat surface was visible from above
  • The huge stones (800–1,200 tons) could not have been moved by any conventional ancient technology
  • The platform’s orientation matches the landing corridor

The Sphinx

The Sphinx at Giza was the “guardian” of the beacon system:

  • Oriented to the rising sun on the equinox
  • Possibly built to mark the Age of Leo (c. 10,500 BCE)
  • Its position guards the Giza complex

Where Sitchin Agrees with Mainstream

  • The monuments are real: Both Sitchin and mainstream scholarship agree on Giza, Baalbek, the Sphinx, Stonehenge, Tiwanaku, Carnac, and the rest. This is not disputed.

  • Giza is aligned to true north: Both agree on the Great Pyramid’s precision.

  • Baalbek’s stones are colossal: Both agree on the ~800-ton trilithon.

  • The Sphinx faces the equinox sunrise: Both agree on its eastward orientation.

  • These sites show astronomical interest: Both agree many align to solstices or stars.

Where They Differ

  • Beacons or monuments: Sitchin reads a guidance network for spacecraft. Mainstream reads independent religious, funerary, and astronomical monuments.

  • Baalbek’s stones: Sitchin says no ancient technology could move them. Mainstream says Roman engineering moved the trilithon and never moved the largest.

  • The Sphinx’s date: Sitchin reads the Age of Leo, c. 10,500 B.C. Mainstream reads Khafre, c. 2500 B.C.
