Nibiru kritika (Nibiru Criticism)

The existence of Nibiru as described by Zecharia Sitchin is not supported by mainstream astronomy.

Astronomical Objections

  1. Orbital Mechanics β€” A planet with a 3,600-year orbit as described would be detectable
  2. Gravitational Effects β€” Such a planet would cause observable perturbations in the orbits of outer planets
  3. Infrared Signatures β€” A large planet would be visible in infrared surveys
  4. No Evidence β€” Decades of astronomical surveys have found no evidence of such a planet

Planet Nine

The scientific search for "Planet Nine" (Batygin & Brown, 2016) is sometimes confused with Sitchin's Nibiru, but they are different concepts: - Planet Nine: Neptune-sized, 10,000–20,000-year orbit - Nibiru (Sitchin): Earth-sized, 3,600-year orbit
