Gold Mining

Sumerian term: KUG.GI (𒆬𒄀) β€” "Gold" Sumerian term: AΕ .NA (π’€Έπ’ˆΎ) β€” "the ore"

Date: Approximately 450,000–445,000 BCE

After establishing their base at Eridu, the Anunnaki began mining gold. This was the primary purpose of their mission to Earth.

The Gold Mines

The Anunnaki established gold mines in southeast Africa, in the region of modern-day South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana. These are now known as the "Ancient Gold Mines" of the African continent.

The Miners

The actual mining labor was performed by the Igigi, a group of 300 lower-ranking Anunnaki. They worked for one Nibiru year (3,600 Earth years) before rebelling.

The Rebellion

The Igigi's rebellion (recorded in the Atra Hasis epic) led directly to the creation of humanity as a replacement workforce.
